The first step in the D.O.I.T. process is Discovery. This is first round of Discovery for my father’s and my website: In Every Step
Collect everything you want that may apply to this project.
Suggestions:
- Decide where you are on the E(P) Matrix and where you want to go next.
- Begin with E.M.I.T. — and if you wish, W.O.W. yourself.
- Consider Essential A-F.
- Gather anything else you’ve got that may apply.
Drafting the map:
from strategy: E(P) Matrix
We’re currently in the first box (Exist / Experiment), about halfway up and halfway to the right, maybe a little towards Engage. [Will be placing a dot on this spot and move it along with my journey ]
Drafting the starting point:
from strategy; E.M.I.T.
Envision:
I envision sharing my Dad’s and my work together as it relates to his exercises, moments we have, lessons he and I have learned. To share how I work with him, so our loved ones can learn how to work with him too, and so others out there may find inspiration and new ways to work with their different abilities. Walking, talking, Qigong, Yoga, Balancing, daily movements… And the lessons he and I learn through the struggle of it all, and the beautiful moments that unfold along the way.
Mission:
Our mission is to share and teach what my Dad and I do in regards to his Parkinsonism and exercise, to support and be supported by our loved ones, ourselves, and a broad community of positive influence and inspiration.
Intention:
To promote inspiration, joy, possibility, presence, action, connection, harmony, beauty and love in our journey of struggles and successes, within ourselves and outward to our family, friends, and the elderly/caretaker community.
Targets:
Who we aim to serve is our beloved family and friends, the Parkinsonism community, the elderly and differently-abled and their caretakers, and ourselves.
What we are aiming to do is to share the exercises and lessons we’ve learned, the struggles we go through, and the beautiful moments along our journey as it relates to Parkinsonism, elderly living, and caretaking.
Where we will be online is on our website, ineverystep.com, and on youtube. We’ll share on Facebook, and likely begin working-in Instagram and Twitter. Maybe some day TikTok 🙂
When: we have already started creating content on Youtube, and sharing on Facebook. We will now start creating the website, growing and improving over time. Youtube live stream will happen twice a week, and at least one other piece of content will be posted every week.
How we will do it is by building a website that hosts videos, images, and written stories around my Dad’s and my work together. Also through a YouTube channel that hosts the videos we create. Based around the content created on these two sources, we will create and connect through other social platfoms, and create a weekly or bi-monthly newsletter for those who would like to stay updated.
